10 fall to Covid on Monday

Shillong, June 14: Ten more persons have succumbed to Covid-19 today, pushing the state total number of fatalities to 743.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said that 4 deaths were reported in East Khasi Hills district, 2 West Jaintia Hills district, 2 Ri Bhoi district, 1 West Garo Hills district and 1 East Garo Hills district.
The state has also recorded 403 new Covid-19 cases and with this, the total number of active cases stands at 4,529.
Dr War said the new cases include 226 in East Khasi Hills, 63 West Jaintia Hills, 53 Ri Bhoi, 22 West Garo Hills, 9 South Garo Hills, 8 North Garo Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills, 4 South West Khasi Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills and 3 West Khasi Hills.
He also informed that as many as 487 patients have also recovered from the viral infection during the past 24 hours.
Of these, 204 are from East Khasi Hills, 84 West Jaintia Hills, 53 West Garo Hills, 28 East Jaintia Hills, 24 Ri Bhoi, 20 West Khasi Hills, 18 East Garo Hills, 11 South West Garo Hills and 7 South Garo Hills.
So far, a total of 42,309 Covid-19 cases have been detected in the state out of which 4,529 are active cases, 37,037 recovered while there have been 743 deaths.
With 1,682 active Covid-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Garo Hills with 727 cases and 591 West Jaintia Hills.
