18 die of Covid on Friday

Shillong, June 4: Eighteen more persons have succumbed to Covid-19 today taking the death toll in the state to 643.
According to the Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 9 deaths were reported in East Khasi Hills district, 2 West Garo Hills district and 1 each in Ri Bhoi district and South West Garo Hills district.
The state has also recorded 584 new Covid-19 cases and with this, the total number of active cases stands at 6,110.
Dr War said the new cases include 240 in East Khasi Hills, 111 West Jaintia Hills, 55 West Garo Hills, 43 Ri Bhoi, 42 East Jaintia Hills, 27 South West Khasi Hills, 21 West Khasi Hills, 16 South West Garo Hills, 13 East Garo Hills, 8 North Garo Hills and 8 South Garo Hills.
He also informed that as many as 808 patients have also recovered from the viral infection during the past 24 hours.
Of these, 433 are from East Khasi Hills, 88 South West Garo Hills, 85 West Garo Hills, 69 Ri Bhoi, 41 East Jaintia Hills, 29 West Jaintia Hills, 22 West Khasi Hills, 19 East Garo Hills, 15 South Garo Hills and 7 North Garo Hills.
So far, a total of 37,733 Covid-19 cases have been detected in the state out of which 6,110 are active cases, 30,980 recovered while there have been 643 deaths.
