7 fall to Covid on Tuesday

Shillong, June 15: Seven more persons have succumbed to Covid-19 today taking the death toll in the state to 750.
According to the Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, all deceased persons are from East Khasi Hills district.
The state has also recorded 450 new Covid-19 cases and with this, the total number of active cases stands at 4,430.
Dr War said the new cases include 151 in East Khasi Hills, 74 West Garo Hills, 69 West Jaintia Hills, 41 South West Garo Hills, 26 North Garo Hills, 22 Ri Bhoi, 21 East Garo Hills, 17 South Garo Hills, 14 West Khasi Hills, 12 South West Khasi Hills and 3 East Jaintia Hills.
He also informed that as many as 542 patients have also recovered from the viral infection during the past 24 hours.
Of these, 219 are from East Khasi Hills, 123 West Garo Hills, 66 West Jaintia Hills, 35 Ri Bhoi, 26 South West Khasi Hills, 20 South West Garo Hills, 17 East Jaintia Hills, 12 North Garo Hills, 10 East Garo Hills, 7 West Khasi Hills and 7 South Garo Hills.
So far, a total of 42,759 Covid-19 cases have been detected in the state out of which 4,430 are active cases, 37,579 recovered while there have been 750 deaths.
With 1,607 active Covid-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Garo Hills with 678 cases and 594 West Jaintia Hills.
There are 354 cases in Ri Bhoi, 248 South West Garo Hills, 233 North Garo Hills, 217 South West Khasi Hills, 170 East Garo Hills, 146 West Khasi Hills, 106 South Garo Hills and 77 East Jaintia Hills.
