9 fall to Covid on Tuesday

Shillong, June 8: Nine more persons have succumbed to Covid-19 today taking the death toll in the state to 678.
According to the Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 6 deaths were reported in East Khasi Hills district, 2 in West Khasi Hills district and 1 in West Jaintia Hills district.
The state has also recorded 379 new Covid-19 cases and with this, the total number of active cases stands at 4,924.
Dr War said the new cases include 149 in East Khasi Hills, 52 West Garo Hills, 40 West Jaintia Hills, 36 North Garo Hills, 24 South West Garo Hills, 23 South West Khasi Hills, 15 East Garo Hills, 14 West Khasi Hills, 10 East Jaintia Hills, 9 Ri Bhoi and 7 South Garo Hills.
He also informed that as many as 773 patients have also recovered from the viral infection during the past 24 hours.
Of these, 371 are from East Khasi Hills, 142 Ri Bhoi, 83 West Garo Hills, 51 South West Garo Hills, 39 East Jaintia Hills, 27 West Jaintia Hills, 16 West Khasi Hills, 16 North Garo Hills, 14 East Garo Hills, 11 South West Khasi Hills and 3 South Garo Hills.
So far, a total of 39,535 Covid-19 cases have been detected in the state out of which 4,924 are active cases, 33,933 recovered while there have been 678 deaths.
