Drones used to map areas of difference

Nongpoh, Aug 8: Following the border talks between the Chief Minister of Meghalaya and his counterpart from Assam, officials from the state government of Meghalaya have begun drone mapping in a few part of Ri Bhoi District.
The drone mapping was conducted by the team of expert and from the Survey department.
This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District, R.M Kurbah and Ri Bhoi Police Chief, Nazarious Lamare today who said that the drone mapping for border demarcation in the disputed areas under Ri Bhoi has started.
Kurbah said that this drone mapping was started on Friday in the Pilingkata area.
She also said that, the drone mapping for border demarcation in Khanapara area will be conducted soon which by the survey department and the district officials of Ri Bhoi District.
She further said that this drone mapping was conducted under the instruction of the state government after which, the report will be sent to the state government which will finalize the demarcation of the border area.
