Shillong, March 30: There has been no violation of the model code of conduct ahead of the election to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council on April 12, said District Council Affairs Minister Lahkmen Rymbui today.

“As of now nothing has come to my knowledge,” he added.

Rymbui said the returning officers are there to ensure that there is no violation of the model code by any political parties or individuals.

When asked about the preparation for the election in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases in Garo Hills, the minister said protocols have been issued and if there need be, they will be reviewed depending on the situation.

He said the administration of the five Garo Hills districts will recommend to the government for necessary action as per the situation.
