State without its own logo

Shillong, March 23: The state government is proposing to come up with the state’s own logo and anthem as part of celebrating the 50th year of statehood, next year.

After chairing a review meeting today, Arts & Culture Minister AL Hek told reporters that the state does not have its own logo till date. 

“We have discussed today about the logo of the state,” he said.

Hek also informed that his suggestion to have a state anthem was also agreed upon in principle during a high level committee meeting held recently. “For this we have to call professional people to prepare the state anthem,” he said.

As part of preparation for the celebration, the minister also informed that the department has decided to organize cultural programmes in all the districts to showcase and promote the rich culture of the state.

The other features would include Meghalaya 50 festival, indigenous film festival and others.

According to him, the department is still preparing estimates for submission to the finance department.
